We at Beit Hesda here in Israel, are confident that a restored relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, can transform those who suffer from addiction into vibrant, free, and sober followers of the Lord.

We base our curriculum and community of our addiction recovery centers on God’s Word—the Bible along with a family-like atmosphere filled with God’s love. Our center offers practical, appropriate, and accessible Bible-based courses that facilitate the transition from alcoholism and substance abuse to a life of freedom in Christ. At Beit Hesda, we offer a chance to start over, become a new person, live a godly life, and find freedom through a restored purpose and eternal hope. We do this through Bible study sessions, individual study, personal mentoring, work ethics training, involvement in the Christian community, and serving others going through the same thing.

Faith & Discipleship

Addiction destroys more than just the body, so it should be no surprise that Beit Hesda recovery center considers all aspects of a person’s life. Because addiction starts as a way to fulfill a void that only God can fill, a strong relationship with the Lord is foundational to our program. We construct this foundation by teaching the Word of God and by placing each individual in an environment where they can bond with other growing disciples.

Phases of Rehab

Our program includes 3 phases of rehabilitation in a period of 9 months. In the first phase, we dedicate for the person to recover from sicknesses, disconnect from his old habit-enabling relationships, overcome withdrawals, and make a decision if he would want to join the full discipleship program that involves his relationship with Christ.

In the second phase, we focus on a greater depth of the relationship with Christ. To esteem one another higher than yourself. To serve one another and others. Based on individual growth we also allow members to adapting to life by getting a part-time job.

In the final phase, we prepare the person to take the water baptism as well as take on a ministry in serving others. We transition the person to independently make their own Godly life decisions.

Schedule

At 6:45 in the morning our day starts. After 30 minutes into the day, we begin each day with a prayer of thanksgiving and gratitude for our life and everything that God has given us.

At 8 we continue with our breakfast and fellowship. Later we have a gathering where we go through a foundational Biblical course that enables a person to understand the basic topics of the Bible. This course also includes a daily short homework assignment that the person on the program has time to prepare for the next day what they learned.

Continuing the day at 10 am we run our errands and do the cleaning as well as prep the lunch. The lunch is at 1 pm when we sit together as one big family and eat. From 2 pm – 4 pm, we have our personal time where each person can prep the homework for the next day, take a nap, or learn a new skill. Some days we would take a trip to the sea of galilee or a tour place to learn about the bible.

BIBLICAL TOURS

As part of the program, we take the members about once a week on biblical tours throughout Israel. The goal of the trip is for a person to learn to transition from getting enjoyment from destructive addictions to realizing and enjoying the natural blessings that God has given all of us. Visiting these biblical sites also strengthens a person’s faith in the reality and accuracy of the scriptures.

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free"
