Trip to Lake Kinneret: A Time of Refreshing and God’s Love

“May the Lord bless you, my precious ones!”

I would like to share with you a joyful report about our trip to Lake Kinneret.

Did you know?

In the time of Jesus Christ, Lake Kinneret was called a sea—back then, it was much larger and deeper than it is today. For us, it is not just a beautiful body of water, but a special, biblical place.

Long-Awaited Relief from the Heat

For several days in a row, the heat was intense, and by the evenings, the stuffiness became almost unbearable. Every one of us deeply longed to plunge into cool water, even if just for a few minutes, to refresh ourselves.

And on July 19, the Lord heard our desire! He inclined the hearts of our church ministers, and our dream came true.

Early in the morning on July 19, right after breakfast, our entire home, “Bait Ham Hesda,” along with the young children of our brother Valera, set off in our minibus. Inspired by the day ahead and looking forward to the rest, we traveled toward the lake in the highest and most thankful spirits!

Joy in the Water and God’s Presence

As soon as we arrived, we ran straight to the water with an unyielding desire to jump in and wash away the heat of the day. Every single one of us had been dreaming of this moment for so long!

We swam, splashed, and had fun like little children. Sincere smiles and truly happy eyes lit up everyone’s face. Right then, the Almighty granted us an understanding: even though each of us has walked a different path in life, it is in these moments of God-given unity that we become big, strong, and pure.

When our hearts are open, filled with genuine happiness, purity of thought, joy, and—most importantly—love for our Creator and one another, the Lord cleanses us. We truly become like little children, and this is clearly evident because nothing can dim the light, warmth, and purity of God’s love!

Rest on the Shore: Fellowship and Family Warmth

Having washed away all the road dust, the fatigue of the journey, and the scorching air, we felt invigorated by the cool water and stepped out onto the shore.

Gathering around a wooden table in the pleasant shade of the trees, we brought out the cold watermelon we had prepared in advance. With undisguised pleasure, everyone enjoyed the juicy watermelon, sharing jokes, laughter, and heartfelt conversation.

In that moment, I believe each of us deeply felt just how good it is for us to be together! We felt that we had become truly close to one another—a real, strong family—and the level of trust and unity among us grew instantly.

The Way Home and Deep Reflections

Having swam to our heart’s content and spent the entire day in joyful fellowship—simply rejoicing in being alive and together by God’s grace—we headed back home.

On the way back, I reflected on how simply our Lord reveals His mercy and love to us. Less than a year ago, none of us could have imagined that a simple trip to Lake Kinneret could bring so much genuine joy! It filled us with God’s love like never before.

At last, we are beginning to live that real life offered to each of us by Jesus Christ—regardless of who we were in the past and requiring nothing in return.

Glory be to the Lord our God, Jesus Christ, and God the Father! Amen!
